Manu Amazon Cultural Zone 5D/4N Bus

Information:

Our 5-day adventure begins in Cusco, first we will cross the cloud forest in the high jungle and we will be able to observe species that inhabit this area (cock of the rocks, spectacled bears, quetzales, trogones, etc.)
From Puerto Atalaya we will sail in boats on the Madre de Dios River and we will make a first stop at Cocha Machuwasi, to observe a variety of animals. Then we will go to appreciate the parrot clay licks and we will continue sailing to the Cocha Maravilla, from a platform we will appreciate the mammal licks.
We will make a next stop in the community of Shinyuta, and visit the hot springs and waterfalls in the area.

  • DAY 01: CUSCO - CLOUDY FOREST - PAUCARTAMBO - PILCOPATA.

    After picking you up from your hotel, we will leave cusco early in the morning in our bus, heading to paucartambo through the high mountains on the way will stop in huancarani in order to have breakfast. . we will make a short stop to visit this colonial small village. Wich is the highest point of this journey, ajanaco. Together with the guide you will explore the área, getting important information about this reasion, which is the beging part of the cloud forest.the bus then descents throuhg the mysterious cloud forest fullmof beautiful orchids, heliconias and primitive ferns. Here we will make some stops in order to stop and witness me cock of the rocks ( Rupicola Peruvian). There are also possibilities to observe the amazonia umbrela bird (Cephalopteros Ornatus) Trogons (Trogon sp.) and many more. With some luck we might also spot the only south american bear the bear ( tremarctos) . After having explored the cloud forest, we will arive to the village of pilcopata late in the afternoon.

  • DAY 02: PILCOPATA- ATALAYA – MACHUWASI – ALBERGUE PAITITI.

    After a delicious breakfast, we continue our trip by bus to Atalaya for 45 minutes, height of 490 masl, where we will embark by boat for 30 minutes to the lodge Paititi lodge where we will spend the night in our typical lodge with private bathrooms and showers. On the way, we will observe a variety of animals. After the delicious lunch, in the afternoon we will go to the Cocha Machuwasi, where we will ride a catamaran typical of the area, to observe a variety of birds such as the Shansho (Ophisthocomus hoazín), monkeys, reptiles, dwarf alligators and insects, and perhaps some ronsocos (Hydrochaerus hydrochaeris). At night, we have the optional night trekking program. Night in Hostel with private bathrooms and showers available.

  • DIA 03: COLLPA OF PARROTS - COCHA MARAVILLA

    Very early we left by boat until the collpa of green parrots (Wall of clay with minerals) where 3 to 4 species of parrots are observed, then we return in boat where we will have a walk inside the forest, arriving to the private lagoon or cocha maravilla from a platform we can see a variety of birds, monkeys, small reptiles, dwarf alligators and insects. In the afternoon, we return to our hostel for lunch. At night, we will have night walks. Night in hostel with bathrooms and private showers.

  • DAY 04: SHINTUYA COMMUNITY - HOT SPRING (HOT MEDICINAL WATERS) - CATARATAS.

    After breakfast, we take the boat to go along the Madre de Dios River for approximately 3 hours to the native community of Shintuya. Where we can visit the native population on the way we will observe many kinds of birds and animals on the beach we continue our trip by boat to Aguas Calientes. A special place in this area of the jungle, where you can enjoy these healing waters and take a shower relax and visit the falls. In the afternoon, we are back to Paititi hostel and at night, we have night walk.

  • DAY 05: ALBERGUE PAITITI LODGE - ATALAYA - CUSCO.

    After our delicious breakfast we unfortunately return by boat from the Paititi lodge to Atalaya, where the bus awaits us to return to Cusco, again passing through the mysterious cloud forest to the city Imperial of Cusco. (Approximate arrival at 6:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.).
